Some time last year we realised we were not spending much quality time together. Between work, school, and the Mudge’s semi-weekly sport practice, we had relatively few evenings together, and too often we were spending those working on our own projects. After one too many nights with our faces buried into our individual screens, we declared “enough”, and made a plan to start some positive traditions. Now, nearly without fail, Tuesday is Family Night in our house.
For us May felt a like a whole lot of nothin’ going on, since we kept waiting every day for things to materialize that would get us closer to our expat goals. Instead, a whole lot of smaller things happened while we were waiting in May.
After a good 20 hours of travel time, including two hours of delays aboard the plane before takeoff out of Philadelphia, we made it to California before 11 pm on March 1st. We made it just under the wire to pick up our rental car and check into our hotel.
Not a bad way to turn 1! The lovely folks at Gorgues Thierry (Cruzy's regionally famous patisserie) crafted a chocolate family tarte and separate smash cake for the occasion. Joyeux anniversaire mon petit biscuit!!
